Body Contouring with Liposuction – It’s Time to Look Your Best
Facial rejuvenation and resurfacing are being performed with latest laser technologies today, but those methods are not applicable when it comes to body contouring. Body contouring involves the delineation of many different areas of the body including, but not limited to thighs, calves, hips, love handles, triceps, etc. When fat deposits accumulate in these areas, they become loose and saggy. Body Contouring Using Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure wherein the surgeon uses a cannula (a thin tube) to remove the fat from your body. The tube is inserted into the area through an incision. It is connected to a suction pump that pulls the excess fat as the surgeon maneuvers it on, and into the fatty area. A solution is used during the procedure to break the fat and suck it out through the tube. There are different types of liposuction methods used depending on the situation.
A procedure called tumescent liposuction involves the injection of a solution into the fatty area first. The solution inserted is made of epinephrine, lidocaine and salt. After the fat swells up it is much easier for the surgeon to remove it through liposuction. Ultrasonic liposuction is another method in which sound waves are used for melting the fat before its extraction. Laser assisted liposuction methods are also available. Laser is used in these methods to melt the fat, and there are many benefits to laser liposuction.
First, it is much safer and very comfortable for most patients. Secondly, the recovery time with laser liposuction is considerably less. Laser assisted liposuction is highly recommended for sensitive areas like jowls and the neck.
The Liposuction Procedure for Body Contouring
Almost any area of your body that has lost its shape due to fat deposits can be treated with liposuction. Treatable areas include, neck, jowls, chin, male/female breasts, arms, thighs, calves, buttocks, hips, flanks, etc. The procedure is completed using general anesthesia or local anesthesia. Local anesthesia will only numb the area being treated whereas general anesthesia puts you under. After injecting the fat melting liquid, a small incision is made onto the area that is to be treated.
The cannula is then inserted through the incision and with back and forth motion the swollen and melted fat is sucked out.
Travel to Istanbul for Laser Liposuction
You will need to stay for 3 nights after body contouring surgery if only laser liposuction will be performed and 1 night of this stay will be in hospital. The surgery will be under general anesthesia and you’ll be wearing a compression garment inside your cloths for 1 month after surgery.
You can safely fly back home the 3rd day after surgery after laser liposuction as the swelling is less and heals quickly.
